The Philologos Society at the University of Southern California is an altruistically-oriented, student-run intellectual society galvanized by Humanists exploring, discussing & placing all facets of human knowledge within the reach of surrounding educational institutions as well as giving back to the community through a variety of humanitarian endeavors.
Intellectuality is the ability to gain and hold knowledge, and to properly exercise this knowledge in a positive and productive manner. Intellectuality is something anyone can gain, but is not born with; it is a desire to know much about many fields, and a desire to use this knowledge to create, to analyze, or to change.

While thinking and arguing and postulating are all fun, we don't just do that. We want not only to foster intellectuality but also a society of intellectuals, and so Philologos hosts social events within the greater Los Angeles area for members to explore the region and build friendships with fellow Philologians.
